Project 365: December 16-31

Day #350. Projects with black paint = dirty fingers for days. 12/16
351. Bartender (dad) pouring the good stuff. 12/17

352. Celebrating Bill's birthday. (You just might see that "6" again in May for David's birthday...) 12/18

353. I love to see Sammie so happy. It was a glow in the dark calendar of the moon. Yes! 12/19

354. Stack of coasters awaiting the final stitching. 12/20

355. Hanukah gift for David. He wore it to school the very next day. 12/21

356. Waiting to light the Hanukkah candles. 12/22

357. EC's favorite spot under the tree. 12/23

358. David and Mr. Sleepy in the morning sunlight. 12/24

359. Happy birthday, Evan. I hope all your dreams come true. 12/25

360. Papa tuning up David's new guitar. I could watch this all day. 12/26

361. David playing war with Mom-Mom, my 81-year old grandmother. On. The. Floor. She's awesome. 12/27

362. Thanks Uncle J for the cutest sock monkey EVER! 12/28

363. Sharing a milkshake. I don't think it gets any sweeter than this. Oh, I'm melting! 12/29

364. Scrap sale at the quilt shop. This is only one pile of my goodies. 12/30
365. Happy New Year, baby! (Should I be worried that this is the second photo of  a martini in two weeks?) 12/31

Do you know how good that felt, to type that number? 365. Oh, what an awesome accomplishment! In a momentary fit of over-sharing, I have to confess - I actually teared up when I typed those keys on my keyboard. 3. 6. 5. I DID IT! I actually did it.

I took a picture every single day this year, and a variety of them, at that. I took really nice pictures, demonstrating art and technique. I took standard, "here's my day" or "this is what's right in front of me" pictures. I also took (lots of) lazy iPhone pictures that were barely decipherable. But. I took a picture every day. I showed you my life through the camera lens for 365 days, the entire duration of 2011. I showed you what we did, where we went and sometimes how I was feeling. And to have completed it, what an exhilarating feeling. It feels so good.

So having said all this, it could be taken that I'm done and happy about it - in a relieved and "what was I thinking" kind of way. But that couldn't be further from the truth. I can't wait to get started again! Yes, I'm doing it again. And yes, my husband just about keeled over when I told him.

I'm excited for another year of pictures and I would love for you to join me in the journey. I'll think I'll use Flickr this time (besides my blog), as a member of a Project 365 group - or as it is this year: Project 366! I really enjoy following along with Katrina Kennedy's Capture Your 365 site - she offers some really great prompts, guidance and support. There are lots of other online resources for encouragement (including me! I'll help you!) and lots of different ways you can complete the project. If it feels intimidating, try just a month or a week. Try doing a Project 52 - a photo a week.

You never know what you can do till you give it a shot. Pun intended.
